Frequently Asked Questions
Which breeds do you specialize in?
Currently, all our efforts go into breeding healthy and trained XXL Bullies and South African Mastiffs. Visit our Breeding page for more information.
How much does Rumble weigh?
Rumble is a stud. Not surprising as he is brothers with the infamous Hulk. He doesn’t quite weigh as much as Hulk, but Rumble does come in at a healthy 135 lbs.
Are your pups health tested?
Yes, we go way above and beyond what any other breeder does. We have the most stringent vaccination protocol of any breeder I’ve ever seen. Between our staff and on call USDA accredited vets, our dogs go through full health screenings from head to paw. Our protocols also include genetics testing of breeding stock. Our methods were developed with many years of experience and expert council. As such a lot of our process is proprietary and is only discussed with clients and their vets.
Are your puppies health certified?
Yes, our pups are health certified by our Vet. Our puppies come up-to-date on their shots before they leave our kennel. Our puppies are healthy and we guarantee it.
When are the pups able to go home?
Pups are eligible to go home after all vaccination protocols and health certification completed at 9.5 weeks. However, if the pup gets its ears cropped, the pup may have to wait until 11 weeks for the ears to be 100% healed in order to go home. If you choose, you can get the ears done by your local vet so it doesn’t hold up the process of your pup going home.
Are payment plans available for your puppies?
The way our system is set up, it basically is a built in payment plan. Only the deposit is required to reserve the “pick” of your choice. The remaining balance can be broken up into payments of your choice, whichever is most convenient for you. The balance just has to be paid in full before he/she is ready to go home.
Are facility tours offered?
Steele Kennels offers tours of our facility and breeding program upon request and by appointment only. We’d love to get to know you and make you part of our family. Chances are, our pups will love you the most! Visit our Contact page to submit an inquiry and we will get back with you as soon as we can.
Are XL Pitbulls and XL American Bullies the Same Breed?
Yes they are the same breed. It’s a long story but in a nut shell they are the same dog.
What do you feed your dogs?
We feed our dogs a premium, all-natural raw diet that provides all the healthy nutrients they need. Our mission is to feed pets responsibly and properly to maximize health, longevity and reduce allergies and vet bills. Benefits of our raw food includes shinier coats, healthier skin, strengthened jaw muscles, cleaner teeth, increased muscle mass, and smaller stools. Increased energy levels are also noticeably attained as well.
Is there a Contract?
Yes, once we decide what pup or pick you’re going to reserve, we will need your full name as it appears on your ID and the best E-mail address to send the agreement to. Once you return a signed agreement and payment is verified, we then sign off and stamp payment as PAID on the agreement. This will reflect total charges, amount PAID, and the total of any remaining balance due. Afterwards, a fully executed document will be provided to serve as signed agreement and payment receipt.
!!VERY IMPORTANT!!
When you fill out the agreement. Use the address on you Driver’s License. Your information will be used solely for the purpose of Health Certification documents and medical records. The information on the health certification has to match your ID identically. This is very IMPORTANT! Shipping authorities will require ID to release the pup to you when you go to pick up at delivery terminal. The information has to match the information I provide to them on the health certification documents. My staff and shipping agents use the information you provide on this agreement to prepare those documents.
You can read our Puppy Contract in full.
How does payment processing work?
We accept the following forms of payment: Bank wire, Bank transfers, PayPal, Venmo, Cashapp, ect. If you have it, we most likely accept it. If not, we’ll look into getting whatever it is that you have if we don’t.
Generally, a deposit is placed to reserve a “pick” standard deposit is $1,000.00. However, if it’s a 1st pick or a pup over $10,000.00 then 20% is required. Also if the pup is going international than the deposit is $2,000.00. The remaining balance is just required to be paid before the pup is eligible to go home at 9.5 weeks. You can choose to make small payments to break it up. Or pay the balance in full at pick up or prior to shipping.
Example lets say there is a breeding you want to reserve a pick from. For example, that breeding is happening today. There is a 63-day pregnancy and 9.5 week whelping process. So after the deposit is made that allows approx. 4.5 months total to pay the remaining balance or break it up into smaller payments over that time period. So the math is simple from there, if the breeding happened a month ago you would have 3.5 months to pay the balance. If the breeding is going to happen in a month then you will have 5.5 months to pay off the balance. In the extremely rare case that a puppy is ready to go home now and isn’t already reserved then payment would need to be made in full now.
Are pedigrees available for your dogs?
Upon request, we can provide you with a particular dog’s pedigree. Visit our Contact page to submit an inquiry and we will get back with you as soon as we can.
